Every year, thousands of Australian pets get bitten by paralysis ticks, heartworm and other deadly parasites; invisible threats lurking in backyards, parks and waterways. People think these parasites only show up in summer, leaving their pets unprotected for 5-8 months of the year. The problem is, you can't see the danger until it's too late. PetWatch makes the invisible visible. The live-data tool tracks parasite threats across Australia by cross-referencing four years of Greencross vet data with satellite imagery, weather patterns, and humidity levels from the Bureau of Meteorology. My role was to design the website and treatment finder. Pet owners search their suburb, see the risk level, and find the right preventative treatment. The experience includes a questionnaire that captures pet specifics to give personalised product recommendations, then links directly to purchasing from Petbarn. An alert system notifies pet owners via social, CRM and text when parasite threats spike in their area. PetWatch launched across 200 Petbarn stores, 130 vet practices, and pulled in over 350k suburb searches in the first three weeks.
